IPL 2022: SWOT Analysis of Delhi Capitals (DC)

Opportunities – Plenty of all-rounders in the squad

Every good T2o team has multiple options in their dugout when it comes to all-rounders. The Delhi Capitals have done well in that regard, having roped in the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Rovman Powell and Lalit Yadav apart from Axar Patel.

Marsh, who is primarily a batter, can be more than handy with his medium-fast bowling as is the case with Powell. They both have a much-in-demand skill being seam bowling all-rounders. On a day when one of the regular bowlers is having a bad day, both Marsh and Powell can chip in with the ball and ease the pressure of their captain.

Axar is a proven spinner who has also shown glimpses of his skills with the bat in hand. The left-handed batter has the capability of playing the second fiddle to a set batter and can also take the charge with his more than decent stroke-making when needed. Thus, with these many options in hand, Delhi Capitals are always in the game even if the famed top-order fails or on a day when they are struggling with the ball.
