Meanwhile, this edition of the cash-rich event will also see the group format where all the participating teams will be placed in two groups each. As far as the venue is concerned, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided that the two-month-long tournament will completely be held in India itself. While all the members of the 10 teams will be staying in separate hotels in Mumbai, it has been reported that they will be accommodated in either JW Marriott or the Conrad Hotel during the Pune leg.

It must be noted that everyone associated with IPL 2022 including the players, coaches, support staff, match officials, broadcasters, etc. should undergo strict quarantine procedures before entering the bio-secure environment. They all must necessarily have a pre-travel RT-PCR test before leaving for Mumbai to take part in the competition. During their quarantine, the players will be tested on the first, third, and fifth days.
