5) Delhi Capitals – Rovman Powell
Rovman Powell possesses spectacular six-hitting abilities, however, he was just not quite able to get going in the initial few games. The West Indian was dismissed for a couple of ducks, and it looked certain that he would get dropped, once Mitchell Marsh is fit for selection.
Powell finally hit the straps against Rajasthan Royals, where he smashed 36 runs off 15 balls, although his side ended up losing the match. He backed it up with a composed knock against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he took his side past the finishing line. The West Indian batter also scored 35 runs off 21 balls against Lucknow Super Giants a couple of days ago. Rishabh Pant has backed the middle-order batter to do the finishing job for his side, and he has well and truly announced himself in IPL 2022.
Delhi Capitals are in a spot of bother at the moment, winning just four of their nine games. If Delhi are to reach the playoffs, they must ensure that they win at least four of their remaining fixtures. Hence, it becomes imperative that their West Indian powerhouse, Rovman Powell maintains his current form.
