Well, India’s biggest T20 league is a mega phenomenon in itself. For years now, it’s been a perfect place where talent engages with opportunities. Irrespective of your age and fitness, the IPL rewards your profound art and adroitness.

In fact in the history of this competition, cricketers have even debuted at the age of 42 as well as 16. So far a senior hotshot named Pravin Tambe has been the oldest player in this T20 carnival. In IPL 2019, a teenager named Paras Ray Barman also made headlines while debuting at 16 years of age.

Hence in this list, let’s also check out who are the youngest and oldest players of each team in IPL 2022.

1. Chennai Super Kings

Youngest- Rajvardhan Hangargekar (19y 147d)

This youngster from Maharashtra was a hot commodity in IPL 2022 auction. Both heavyweight teams- MI and CSK wanted to earnestly sign Rajvardhan Hangargekar. In India’s recent U19 World Cup triumph, the bowling all-rounder was a crucial member of the team.

As a cricketer, this individual with his primary skill can bowl at speeds till 140 kph. Even with the bat, the 19-year-old can tonk the ball at a fair distance. Currently, under the yellow army, Hangargekar is getting a salary of INR 1.5 Crore. In general, expect the teenager to even make his IPL debut if Deepak Chahar delays his comeback.

Oldest- MS Dhoni (40y 273d)

MS Dhoni is not only just CSKs oldest player but also of the 2022 season. The former World Cup-winning captain had started playing for the yellow army at 26 years of age. Perhaps the current season is also the first time when MSD is just participating as a player.

With regards to the records, Dhoni has played 223 IPL games scoring 4835 runs. Overall this veteran of the league has also played the most matches in the competition. We hope that this behemoth will also be playing in the 2023 IPL tournament.

Youngest- Yash Dhull (19y 146d)

The current U19 World Cup-winning captain is all set to represent his home franchise. By getting signed at INR 50 Lakh, the youngster looks to be the future star of DC. In the U19 World Cup, the cricketer scored a total of 229 runs at an average of 76.33. Perhaps days after the World Cup triumph, Dhull also became the third batter in Ranji Trophy to hit two centuries in his debut game.

In general, expect this talented cricketer to very soon make his IPL debut. Maybe at number three, the DC management might play him if Mandeep Singh doesn’t improve his numbers. Overall, after Virat Kohli, the Delhi franchise has signed every Indian U19 World Cup-winning captain in IPL’s history.

However, this time the veteran will be a guiding figure in the franchise. By signing him at a steal deal of INR 6.2 Crore, Delhi has bought back its old hero.

Perhaps records-wise, the southpaw is also the highest overseas run-getter of IPL. From his 150 IPL games, Warner has scored 5449 runs. Very soon the Aussie is also excepted to surpass Suresh Raina in IPL 2022. All in all, we hope that just like SRH even DC becomes the prosperous home of this master.

Youngest- Noor Ahmad (17y 93d)

The newly formed GT is actually carrying the youngest player of the IPL 2022. This 17-year old leg-spinner was also present in the 2022 U19 World Cup. Coming from the land of eternal wrist spin (Afghanistan), Noor had impressive outings in the mega ICC event. From his six games, the youngster scalped 10 wickets.

Perhaps with regards to T20s, the teenager has also played in the PSL. Skillset wise, Noor can spin the ball both ways along with some whacking abilities. From GT, Noor Ahmad will receive a salary of INR 30 Lakh in IPL 2022. Surely at some point in the tournament, this left-arm spinner will make his IPL debut.

Oldest- Wriddhiman Saha (37y 164d)

Wriddhiman Saha in the IPL has been a credible name. The gloveman was just 23 years old when he debuted for KKR. The senior cricketer has also won an IPL title with CSK in 2011. As of now for Gujarat, Saha is a backup option for the Indian batters. The Titans have signed him for around INR 1.9 Crore in the mega auction.

Youngest- Ashok Sharma (19y 293d)

In the camp of the purple army, this pacer from Rajasthan is the youngest bloke. As per the reports, in IPL 2021, the youngster had given his trials in the RR camp. Ashok is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who had impressed both the KKR and RR franchise.

Perhaps with regards to his selection in the 2022 mega auction, Ashok was left out earlier. But an earnest request from the KKR camp to the BCCI has now changed Ashok’s fortunes. At the mega auction, the individual received a deal of INR 55 lakh from the Kolkata team. Overall, very soon this pacer should unleash himself in the IPL games.

Youngest- Mayank Yadav (19y 293d)

Hailing from Delhi, Mayank Yadav is actually a right-arm medium-fast pacer. The youngster who is very little known recently made his debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the tournament, the 19-year old scalped 6 wickets from his 2 matches around an economy of 6.5.

Overall, the Lucknow franchise has picked the youngster for INR 20 Lakh. Maybe under Gautam Gambhir’s mentorship, the lad will receive adequate fostering and might debut soon.

After a gap of one IPL season, AJ Tye is again back in the IPL. As a replacement for Mark Wood, the Aussie is signed for INR 1 Crore. Interestingly, the MI family in IPL 2022 carries a lot of young players. But Dewald Brevis from South Africa is the youngest in their camp. The 2022 U19 WC sensation was picked by MI for INR 3 Crore. In the ICC event, the batter had topped all charts scoring 506 runs at an average of 84.33.

Additionally, the cricketer is also the second-youngest player in IPL 2022. In general, the MI fans are eagerly waiting to watch Dewald make his IPL debut. Overall, if MI’s lower middle-order fails then ‘Baby AB’ might be selected in the playing XI.

This all-rounder had astonished everyone in the 2022 U19 World Cup. For team India, the youngster was a vital pillar in their winning campaign. From his 6 matches, Bawa scored 252 runs and scalped crucial wickets. That’s why even the Punjab franchise never hesitated to bag this talent at INR 2 Crore.

In fact, in IPL 2022, Raj Bawa has already made his IPL debut. However, sadly in his initial games, Bawa has looked very bleak. Optimistically, the all-rounder can be the next big long-term investment after Arshdeep Singh.

Youngest- Yashasvi Jaiswal (20y 99d)

The RR team has plenitude players who are in the age group of 26-33. Even seniors like Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal age below the number 32. However, with regard to being the youngest, Yashasvi Jaiswal is still the junior man.

The southpaw had made his debut in IPL 2022 and is now an established top-order batter. Last year, the batter had made 249 runs at an average of almost 25. Overall in the current season, Jaiswal is awaited to have a breakthrough IPL.

Arriving from the current U19 WC batch, this junior cricketer is a bowling all-rounder. With his left-arm orthodox spin, Aneeshwar is known for his canny variations. Barring his bowling skills, the cricketer can also be handy with the bat.

Perhaps to groom this talent, the red army has provided him with a deal of INR 20 Lakh in IPL 2022. Overall, we might find the youngster performing the role that Washington Sundar used to play for RCB.

Oldest- Faf du Plessis (37y 267d)

Abdul Samad has been part of the SRH team since IPL 2020. In that season, the cricketer also played a total of 12 games at a salary of INR 20 Lakh. However, in the present season, the batter was retained for INR 4 Crore.

Oldest- Bhuvneshwar Kumar (32y 60d)
