With the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League moving into the fourth week, the franchises are giving their all. We have already witnessed some rousing performances by the batters and the bowlers. As the tournament moves forward, the fans will be hoping to see more of these splendid performances.
From KL Rahul’s century to Wanindu Hasaranga’s brilliant bowling, we have witnessed some brilliant performances. Apart from these players, some players have failed to live up to the hopes of their franchises and have failed to prove their efficacy in the tournament so far.
Here’s the list of the team-wise worst pick of the tournament
1. Daniel Sams – Mumbai Indians
The fiery Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams was picked by Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction. His top-notch performances in the Big Bash League (BBL) earned him the contract with Mumbai Indians (MI) for a whopping price of INR 2.60 cr. However, his performance in the IPL 2022 has been not been up to the mark.
He has been ineffective with the bat, scoring only seven runs in the three matches he played so far. Sams has also conceded 169 runs in the 15 overs he has bowled so far in the tournament at an average economy rate of 11.27. He also bowled the second most expensive over in the history of IPL in the match against KKR.
He has failed to repay the trust put in him by Mumbai Indians. Sams was brought into the squad as a partial replacement for Trent Boult, but he could not compensate for the Kiwi pacer’s absence.
