With the 15th edition of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League</a> moving into the fourth week, the franchises are giving their all. We have already witnessed some rousing performances by the batters and the bowlers. As the tournament moves forward, the fans will be hoping to see more of these splendid performances.

From KL Rahul&#8217;s century to Wanindu Hasaranga&#8217;s brilliant bowling, we have witnessed some brilliant performances. Apart from these players, some players have failed to live up to the hopes of their franchises and have failed to prove their efficacy in the tournament so far.

Here&#8217;s the list of the team-wise worst pick of the tournament

1. Daniel Sams &#8211; Mumbai Indians

The fiery Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams was picked by Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction. His top-notch performances in the Big Bash League (BBL) earned him the contract with Mumbai Indians (MI) for a whopping price of INR 2.60 cr. However, his performance in the IPL 2022 has been not been up to the mark.

He has been ineffective with the bat, scoring only seven runs in the three matches he played so far. Sams has also conceded 169 runs in the 15 overs he has bowled so far in the tournament at an average economy rate of 11.27. He also bowled the second most expensive over in the history of IPL in the match against KKR.

He has failed to repay the trust put in him by Mumbai Indians. Sams was brought into the squad as a partial replacement for Trent Boult, but he could not compensate for the Kiwi pacer&#8217;s absence.

2. Rovman Powell &#8211; Delhi Capitals

The powerful all-rounder from West Indies, Rovman Powell, was given a contract by the Delhi Capitals in the 2022 mega auction. His hard-hitting skills and efficient bowling caught the eye of the team and it earned him the contract of INR 2.80 crore. However, he has only underperformed in the tournament so far.

Failing to live up to his reputation of being a hard-hitter, Powell has been able to muster only 31 runs in the six matches so far in the tournament. He also failed to prove himself with the ball in hand, bowling at an economy rate of 17 runs per over.

He was picked up by the Delhi selectors in hopes of strengthening their middle-order as well as their bowling department. However, he has failed to deliver in both the departments. His under-performance in the tournament has made him the worst pick for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022.

3. Devon Conway &#8211; Chennai Super Kings

Devon Conway also made his way into the 2022 IPL after being picked up by the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at a decent price of INR 1 crore. His constantly well performance for New Zealand earned him the contract. But he has not been given any chance since the first match of the season against KKR in which he failed to make a mark.

He was able to score only three runs in eight balls he played so far in the tournament. Conway has not been given proper chances as CSK has a well-balanced top-order with both openers looking in good form. This makes the chances of him getting another chance to open in the yellow jersey slimmer.

He has been a good opener for the national team but has not made a mark in the Indian Premier League. He went unsold in the IPL 2021 auction.

4. Ajinkya Rahane &#8211; Kolkata Knight Riders

However, he failed to make a mark in the tournament so far, failing to provide support to his opening partner Venktaesh Iyer. As a result, the batting line-up of the Knight Riders has failed to put up or chase a big total so far in the tournament.

The Knight Riders had high hopes from Rahane. However, he failed to live up to that. Due to his below-par performance at the top order, the whole batting line-up of KKR has been struggling and the team finds itself in murky waters, losing three matches on the trot.

5. Manish Pandey &#8211; Lucknow Super Giants

Manish Pandey was picked up by the debutant team Lucknow Super Giants after being released by SRH at a whopping price o INR 4.60 cr. He was an integral part of SRH in the previous three editions of the Indian Premier League and was bought by LSG due to his reputation as a reliable middle-order batsman. However, his performance has been below par in the tournament so far.

Pandey has scored only 66 runs in the five innings. He was brought into the LSG squad to strengthen their middle order as they lack big names there. However, he has failed to give the solid support to the team. This has left a gap in the lower middle order and as a result, there has been a collapse of LSG&#8217;s middle-order on a few occasions. Due to his constant below-par performance in the tournament he has turned out to be the worst pick for LSG in the tournament.

He has been ineffective with the bat in hand too, being able to muster only 18 runs in the four matches at a strike rate of 60. Willey was brought into the RCB squad with hopes of him providing support to the middle-order and the bowling department too. Jonny Bairstow, the fierce opening batter from England, made his way into the Punjab Kings for INR 6.75 crore. His tremendous batting skills caught the eye of the Punjab selectors, which earned him the contract. However, he has had a disappointing tournament so far.

Failing to live up to his reputation, he has been able to muster only 41 runs in the four innings he has played so far. He was picked up by PBKS in hopes of strengthening their top-order, however, he has failed to provide the much-needed support to the top order.

He was an integral part of SRH over the past few years before coming to PBKS and was the star player alongside David Warner in SRH&#8217;s title-winning journey in 2016. However, due to his lack of form and disappointing performance, he is proving to be the worst pick of PBKS in the tournament so far.

8. Yashasvi Jaiswal &#8211; Rajasthan Royals

The emerging young talent of India Yashasvi Jaiswal was retained by Rajasthan Royals at a whopping price of INR 4 cr. Over the past few years, Jaiswal has played impressively for RR. However, he is having a disappointing tournament so far this year.

He has been disappointing with the bat at the opening position, being able to muster only 25 runs in the three innings. He was retained by RR due to his brilliant performance at the top order in the previous edition. However, he had been looking out of touch in this edition so far.

The Rajasthan Royals have had to struggle with the opening pair so far in the tournament as Jos Buttler is not getting enough support from the other partners. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the prominent pick to open with Jos Buttler, but his lack of form has resulted in him being benched after three games only.

Romario Shepherd, the beast from West Indies, made his way into the Sunrisers Hyderabad after they bought him at a whopping price of INR 7.75 cr. He is known for his hard-hitting skills and decent bowling. However, he hasn’t made a mark in the tournament so far.
He mustered only 32 runs in the two matches he played so far. Putting up a disappointing show with the ball in hand, he conceded 75 runs while taking three wickets at an economy rate of 9.38 runs per over. Brought into the squad because of his decent all-around performance, he has failed in both the departments.
He constantly performed well in the Caribbean Premier League(CPL), earning him the contract with SRH. However, he has failed to live up to the expectations of his team. His disappointing performance has made him the worst pick of SRH in the tournament.&nbsp;&nbsp;

With the 15th edition of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League</a> moving into the fourth week, the franchises are giving their all. We have already witnessed some rousing performances by the batters and the bowlers. As the tournament moves forward, the fans will be hoping to see more of these splendid performances.
From KL Rahul&#8217;s century to Wanindu Hasaranga&#8217;s brilliant bowling, we have witnessed some brilliant performances. Apart from these players, some players have failed to live up to the hopes of their franchises and have failed to prove their efficacy in the tournament so far. 
<h3>Here&#8217;s the list of the team-wise worst pick of the tournament</h3>
<h3>1. Daniel Sams &#8211; Mumbai Indians</h3>

The fiery Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams was picked by Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction. His top-notch performances in the Big Bash League (BBL) earned him the contract with Mumbai Indians (MI) for a whopping price of INR 2.60 cr. However, his performance in the IPL 2022 has been not been up to the mark.
He has been ineffective with the bat, scoring only seven runs in the three matches he played so far. Sams has also conceded 169 runs in the 15 overs he has bowled so far in the tournament at an average economy rate of 11.27. He also bowled the second most expensive over in the history of IPL in the match against KKR.
He has failed to repay the trust put in him by Mumbai Indians. Sams was brought into the squad as a partial replacement for Trent Boult, but he could not compensate for the Kiwi pacer&#8217;s absence. 
<h3>2. Rovman Powell &#8211; Delhi Capitals</h3>

The powerful all-rounder from West Indies, Rovman Powell, was given a contract by the Delhi Capitals in the 2022 mega auction. His hard-hitting skills and efficient bowling caught the eye of the team and it earned him the contract of INR 2.80 crore. However, he has only underperformed in the tournament so far.
Failing to live up to his reputation of being a hard-hitter, Powell has been able to muster only 31 runs in the six matches so far in the tournament. He also failed to prove himself with the ball in hand, bowling at an economy rate of 17 runs per over. 
He was picked up by the Delhi selectors in hopes of strengthening their middle-order as well as their bowling department. However, he has failed to deliver in both the departments. His under-performance in the tournament has made him the worst pick for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022.
<h3>3. Devon Conway &#8211; Chennai Super Kings</h3>

Devon Conway also made his way into the 2022 IPL after being picked up by the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at a decent price of INR 1 crore. His constantly well performance for New Zealand earned him the contract. But he has not been given any chance since the first match of the season against KKR in which he failed to make a mark.
He was able to score only three runs in eight balls he played so far in the tournament. Conway has not been given proper chances as CSK has a well-balanced top-order with both openers looking in good form. This makes the chances of him getting another chance to open in the yellow jersey slimmer.
He has been a good opener for the national team but has not made a mark in the Indian Premier League. He went unsold in the IPL 2021 auction. 
<h3>4. Ajinkya Rahane &#8211; Kolkata Knight Riders</h3>

The former vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, Ajinkya Rahane, was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders after being released by the Delhi Capitals before the 2022 mega auction. He earned the contract by KKR at a decent price of INR 1 crore due to his reputation and record of being a decent middle-order batsman. However, he has put up a disappointing show for the Knight Riders in the tournament so far.
Rahane has mustered only 80 runs in the five innings he has played so far. He was brought into the Knight Riders squad in hopes of putting together a strong opening pair. However, he failed to make a mark in the tournament so far, failing to provide support to his opening partner Venktaesh Iyer. As a result, the batting line-up of the Knight Riders has failed to put up or chase a big total so far in the tournament.
The Knight Riders had high hopes from Rahane. However, he failed to live up to that. Due to his below-par performance at the top order, the whole batting line-up of KKR has been struggling and the team finds itself in murky waters, losing three matches on the trot.
<h3>5. Manish Pandey &#8211; Lucknow Super Giants</h3>

Manish Pandey was picked up by the debutant team Lucknow Super Giants after being released by SRH at a whopping price o INR 4.60 cr. He was an integral part of SRH in the previous three editions of the Indian Premier League and was bought by LSG due to his reputation as a reliable middle-order batsman. However, his performance has been below par in the tournament so far.
Pandey has scored only 66 runs in the five innings. He was brought into the LSG squad to strengthen their middle order as they lack big names there. However, he has failed to give the solid support to the team. This has left a gap in the lower middle order and as a result, there has been a collapse of LSG&#8217;s middle-order on a few occasions. Due to his constant below-par performance in the tournament he has turned out to be the worst pick for LSG in the tournament.
<h3>6. David Willey &#8211; Royal Challengers Bangalore</h3>

The English left-arm pacer, David Willey, was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a INR 2 crore. He has been a decent performer with both the bat and ball in hand for England. However, he has vastly underperformed in the tournament so far.
Willey has conceded over 72 runs in the four matches so far at an economy rate of nearly 7 runs per over. He has been ineffective with the bat in hand too, being able to muster only 18 runs in the four matches at a strike rate of 60. Willey was brought into the RCB squad with hopes of him providing support to the middle-order and the bowling department too. However, he failed to make a mark in the tournament with the bat or ball in hand.
He has a reputation of being a fierce bowler and a decent lower middle-order batsman and has the capability of taking his side over the line from any point in the match. However, things have gone south for him as he is failing in both the departments. 
<h3>7. Jonny Bairstow &#8211; Punjab Kings</h3>

Jonny Bairstow, the fierce opening batter from England, made his way into the Punjab Kings for INR 6.75 crore. His tremendous batting skills caught the eye of the Punjab selectors, which earned him the contract. However, he has had a disappointing tournament so far.
Failing to live up to his reputation, he has been able to muster only 41 runs in the four innings he has played so far. He was picked up by PBKS in hopes of strengthening their top-order, however, he has failed to provide the much-needed support to the top order.
He was an integral part of SRH over the past few years before coming to PBKS and was the star player alongside David Warner in SRH&#8217;s title-winning journey in 2016. However, due to his lack of form and disappointing performance, he is proving to be the worst pick of PBKS in the tournament so far.
<h3>8. Yashasvi Jaiswal &#8211; Rajasthan Royals</h3>

The emerging young talent of India Yashasvi Jaiswal was retained by Rajasthan Royals at a whopping price of INR 4 cr. Over the past few years, Jaiswal has played impressively for RR. However, he is having a disappointing tournament so far this year.
He has been disappointing with the bat at the opening position, being able to muster only 25 runs in the three innings. He was retained by RR due to his brilliant performance at the top order in the previous edition. However, he had been looking out of touch in this edition so far.
The Rajasthan Royals have had to struggle with the opening pair so far in the tournament as Jos Buttler is not getting enough support from the other partners. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the prominent pick to open with Jos Buttler, but his lack of form has resulted in him being benched after three games only.

He has proven himself to be one of the best opening batter any side could ask for. However, he has had a disappointing tournament so far.
Struggling with his form, Wade has been able to muster only 68 runs in the five innings. He was included in the squad in hopes of strengthening their batting line-up which lacks big names, unlike their bowling line-up. However, he failed to live up to his team&#8217;s expectations.
Wade has been an integral part of the Australian team, playing many brilliant knocks for his nation at crucial times. His recent well performance for Australia compelled the Gujarat selectors to bid for him.
