Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced each other in the 39th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season on Tuesday. Having skittled for a paltry score of 68 runs in their previous game, there was pressure on the Faf du Plessis-led side to put up a good show. And their bowlers did a magnificent job after he won the toss and opted to bowl first. The likes of Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga teamed up well to restrict the Royals to 144 runs in their 20 overs.
The fact that the Men in Pink managed to reach that score was due to Riyan Parag who scored his second IPL half-century and remained unbeaten on 56 off 31 deliveries. He churned out runs calmly at the start when they had lost wickets at regular intervals and then launched an assault in the last couple of overs. Parag took the attack to Harshal Patel in the final over churning out 18 runs to take the team’s score past the 140-run mark.
He finished the innings on a high as well smacking a brilliant six over deep mid-wicket. But for some reason, Parag and Harshal Patel exchanged words. It happened when the batter was walking back and he stopped after hearing something and gave it back to the bowler. Harshal and Parag were then seen walking towards each other while one of the Royals’ support staff member made sure to pull the former back. The reason for tempers flaring between them is not known but scenes in the middle were not good to see.

Riyan Parag shines amidst criticism
Meanwhile, Riyan Parag must have been relieved for finally managing to score runs. He has been time and again criticised on social media for not delivering for his team. Moreover, his place in the team has also been questioned a lot of times. But against RCB, he bailed the team out of trouble and made sure to finish the innings on a high.
