3. Rohit Sharma vs Deepak Chahar
Indian and CSK pacer Deepak Chahar will not be available at the start of IPL 2022. However, the right-arm-pacer is expected to join the defending champions in the middle stages of the tournament. Given that CSK will play the five-time champions on April 21, the yellow army are likely to have their key player back from his ongoing rehab.
MI skipper Rohit Sharma, who is likely to open the innings for his franchise, will have the responsibility to see out Chahar’s spell, particularly with the new ball. The right-arm pacer has the ability to swing the new ball a long-way and can prove to be quite lethal if conditions are little suited for the seamers.
The 29-year-old pacer was quite decent with the ball in the last edition. Chahar picked a total of 14 wickets in 15 matches he played for the yellow army. Meanwhile, Rohit was also a key performer for his side as he scored 381 runs in just 14 matches. It will be quite interesting to see the battle among the two Indian players in the world’s biggest cricketing league.
