In the afternoon match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) managed to come out on top, and in the evening game, it was Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) which came on top against the bleak-looking Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
During the afternoon match, PBKS put up a competitive total on the board with England batter Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, and wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma ensuring that the Punjab Kings post a decent total on the board. In reply, opening batters Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a perfect response to the Kings. The baton was then passed to skipper Sanju Samson and West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer, who ensured that the Royals got two vital points on the table.
Lucknow Super Giants won comfortably against KKR
The second contest of the day was a one-sided affair. After batting first, LSG posted a decent total with South African batter Quinton de Kock, Deepak Hooda, and Marcus Stoinis ensuring that the new entrants cross the 170-run mark in their 20 overs quota. For KKR, Andre Russell, Tim Southee, Shivam Mavi, and Sunil Narine, were the successful bowlers.
In reply, KKR batters never managed to get going as they lost wickets one after another. Hard-hitter Russell was the highest run-scorer for the two-time champions. Sunil Narine and Aaron Finch were the other two batters to cross the double-digit mark. For LSG, pacer Avesh Khan and Jason Holder scalped three wickets each.
