IPL 2022: Virat Kohli bags a golden duck against LSG, stands in disbelief after getting out
Kohli bagged his fourth golden duck in IPL.
Virat Kohli’s form in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been concerning. He hasn’t scored a fifty yet this season and has crossed the 40-run mark only twice. He seemed to be in the best of forms in the game against Mumbai Indians (MI) when he scored 48 runs and was unlucky to be given out LBW controversially. To make it worse, the former RCB skipper bagged a golden duck against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday (April 19).
LSG opted to field first after winning the toss and RCB got off to a poor start with their Anuj Rawat getting out in the very first over. Virat Kohli then came out to bat at number three. The team and his fans would’ve hoped for him to make an impact. But off the final ball of the opening over, the 33-year-old slashed a wide, back of a length delivery straight to backward point where Deepak Hooda was fielding who didn’t drop the catch.
It was a harmless delivery from Dushmantha Chameera and there was enough width for Virat Kohli to play the shot. But the bounce did there and he ended up handing a catch to bag a golden duck. The man himself didn’t expect it and stood at the crease in disbelief with a smile on his face.

Virat Kohli bags his fourth golden duck in IPL
This turned out to be Virat Kohli’s fourth golden duck in the history of the IPL and the first one after the 2017 season. Moreover, he hasn’t been able to get off the blocks this season as well. So far, the former India skipper has scored 119 runs in seven innings at an average of 19.83 and his strike-rate isn’t encouraging either. To add to his woes, Kohli has been dismissed three times in four innings inside the powerplay this season scoring only 25 runs at a strike-rate of 108.69. Clearly, luck is not favouring him and the fans will be hoping to see his best in the near future.
