IPL 2022: Virat Kohli bows down to Dinesh Karthik after his 375 strike rate knock vs SRH
Karthik smashed an unbeaten 30 off just 8 balls to propel RCB to 192 runs in their 20 overs.
Virat Kohli might be struggling for form with the bat but the man is certainly enjoying his cricket in the middle. Many times in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, he has been seen celebrating wickets like he always does and is always involved in the game as well. However, on Sunday (May 8) against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he was distraught after bagging his third golden duck of IPL 2022. Even head coach Sanjay Bangar was seen consoling him in the dressing room.
But by the time the innings ended, the 33-year-old had regained his composure and enjoying the on-field action. Dinesh Karthik played an excellent hand in the death overs and helped RCB finish the innings on a high. He smashed an unbeaten 30 off just 8 deliveries and continued to excel in his finishing role this season.
Karthik took on the IPL debutant Fazalhaq Farooqi in the final over hitting three sixes and a four off the last four balls. His knock propelled RCB to 192 runs in their 20 overs and it also instilled confidence in their dressing room with Virat Kohli jumping in delight. The man was so happy watching Karthik bat with a 375 strike-rate during his 8-ball stay in the middle that the former RCB skipper even bowed down to the latter after he reached the dressing room.
It was a very fine gesture from Virat Kohli lauding Karthik’s repeated heroics in IPL 2022 and it also proved that the man is enjoying the game like he always does despite his form not being so good.

Faf du Plessis also shines with the bat for RCB
Meanwhile, not only Dinesh Karthik, but the RCB skipper Faf du Plessis also held one end up to bat right through the innings and remain unbeaten on 73 off 50 deliveries with 8 fours and 2 sixes to his name. Du Plessis couldn’t accelerate like he wanted in the death overs but Karthik’s enterprising knock took RCB to a par total at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
