Woefully, the IPL 2022 hasn’t been any blissful for the Mumbai Indians. The franchise with the most IPL titles (5) is yet to secure a win in the competition. Many experts have felt that MI made a travesty of itself because of its inferior auction strategy.

Perhaps even their former superstars- QDK, Boult, Rahul Chahar, and Pandya brothers have emerged as fruitful cogs in the tournament. So comprehensively if again Mumbai has to revive itself then the 2023 auction could be their next focus place. Therefore in this list, let’s check out-

Three specific players which MI can target in IPL 2023 auction

1. Sam Curran

Because of a back injury in IPL 2021, Sam Curran had to skip the ongoing season. While representing CSK in the second half of IPL 2021, the all-rounder sustained a stress fracture. However, with his injury now being fully healed, Sam is back playing first-class cricket in England. In the initial days of IPL 2022, the cricketer also expressed his dire wish to play IPL.

Perhaps in the next IPL auction, this 23-year-old can be found starting a bidding war amongst many teams. His former franchise, the yellow army will also be desperate to bring him home. But in MI’s case, Sam Curran will be a perfect fit to replace the futile services of Daniel Sams.

Practically in the blue and gold dugout, this Englishman will exhibit himself as a proper T20 all-rounder. In the lower middle-order, the southpaw will be used to not only prolong the entire batting but also provide extra bolstering to the likes of Kieron Pollard and Tim David.

Also as a four-over seamer, Sam will be a value-worthy option who could be very beneficial in the power play. Additionally, if he also serves well as a third pacer of the team then MI can even play an overseas attacking spinner in the main XI. Overall, as an available proposition, Sam Curran can bring a big resolve to Mumbai’s both batting and bowling conundrums.
