This Aussie behemoth has been a huge underperforming IPL cricketer in the past. Before joining RCB in IPL 2021, Maxwell was well associated with the Punjab team. His re-entry into the franchise had happened when the management purchased him for INR 10.75 Cr in the 2020 auction. Before that Maxwell had played the 2018 IPL for Delhi Daredevils.

However while PBKS made a grand comeback of Maxwell through their colossal signing, the 33-year-old contrastingly exhibited a flop show. In his 13 appearances, the cricketer just assembled 108 runs at an average of 15.42. Even with regards to hitting boundaries, all the batter had managed was just nine fours.

Woefully, Maxwell’s strike rate was also marginally above 100. Such a stint with Punjab is also the all-rounder’s worst season ever in the IPL. Fortunately in the next IPL season, the Aussie player then prospered well for the Royal Challengers.
