Once expected to succeed the legendary Chaminda Vaas in the Sri Lankan squad, Dilhara Fernando’s career has not lived up to the expectations both in the international level and the Indian Premier League.

The tall pacer wore the Mumbai jersey for three seasons of the tournament starting from 2008.T he 37 year old is still an active professional in cricket for his country but now finds himself out of the first team in all three formats.

Though the bowler did not perform badly in the big money league, luck was never on his side. He took up 17 wickets from the 10 matches he got to play with a best of 4 wickets giving away 18 runs. He reached his IPL career best against the Royal Challengers Bangalore which saw them get bundled out for a relatively low score.
