IPL: 5 Players who were underutilized by CSK
MS Dhoni has helped several cricketers shape their careers but some didn't good chances with CSK in IPL.
3. George Bailey
Most of us associate George Bailey with the Indian Premier League for his captaincy stint at the Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings). However, much before, he appeared for them in the 2014 season as a captain, he was a part of the CSK team. The Australian was bought by the franchise ahead of the 2009 season.
Despite being bought for $50,000, Bailey sat most of the season on the benches. It should be noted, this was also the time when players like Michael Hussey, Andrew Flintoff, Matthew Hayden, Jacob Oram, Albie Morkel, and Muttiah Muralitharan used to play for them. And at that time, Bailey wasn’t renowned as he is now.
This is before he made his T20I debut while captaining Australia in 2012. Bailey was with the CSK team for the 2009 and 2010 seasons but managed to play a total of four matches. He mostly played as a replacement opener to Matthew Hayden. He later went on to lead Punjab into the final of the 2014 season.
