IPL: 5 Players who were underutilized by CSK
MS Dhoni has helped several cricketers shape their careers but some didn't good chances with CSK in IPL.
5. Sam Billings
The English wicketkeeper-batsman has been a regular feature in the Indian Premier League since the 2016 season. He has featured for Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) in the 2016 and 2017 seasons before reappearing for them in 2021. However, between those two stints, the Kent player got an opportunity to play for Chennai Super Kings.
He arrived at the franchise in the 2018 season. Despite people largely arguing his selection, Billings announced his arrival at the franchise through a brilliant match-winning fifty against Kolkata in a home game, when CSK was chasing more than 200. He went on to play several other matches that season, but never did he get the right platform to bat.
In the 2018 season, he played 10 matches with most of them batting way down the order. In the 2019 season, he played just one match. He was released by the franchise and then was picked up once again by Delhi Capitals in the auction of 2021. Even this season, he failed to make a cut into the XI.
