India opener Shikhar Dhawan had lit up the world with his performances in limited-overs cricket across the globe. Having played for Deccan Chargers, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in his IPL career, he is now an integral part of the Delhi Capitals set up. He has scored 5050 runs in 174 innings at a strike-rate of 126.57.

Dhawan was one of Hyderabad’s major openers for a large chunk of David Warner’s captaincy. He had played an extremely important part in their title win in 2016 with 501 runs in that season. He was also a major part of the Sunrisers leadership group with his valuable experience. SRH traded him for Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma, and Shahbaz Nadeem.

Dhawan is second on the Orange Cap list as of Match 54 with 471 runs at an impressive strike-rate of 147. He scored two back-to-back tons this season, but he hasn’t maintained that level of consistency in the rest of the tournament.

He still remains the most in-form Indian opener of the tournament after KL Rahul. Hyderabad had to use two of their overseas spots on the openers itself, which ended up affecting the team balance massively.
