IPL 9: 5 untested players thus far

We all know IPL 9 is an opportunity galore for most of the players. However, some players despite getting picked up for the franchise, have to wait for a long time before the get an opportunity to play in the middle to showcase their abilities. Some unlucky ones go without playing even a single game throughout the season. The current season is also almost half-way through its league stages and there are still many players who are still waiting in the huts for their chances to arrive. Here in this analysis, we try to list out 5 such untested players who deserve a chance in the upcoming games. 1. Adam Zampa (RPS): Adam Zampa of Australia. (Photo by MARTY MELVILLE/AFP/Getty Images) Currenty rated as the best leg spinner in Australia, Adam Zampa is still waiting in the hut for his chance to get on the field. Zampa recently made his interational debut for Australia after having dominated the domestic circuit for the past couple of years. Although not a big turner of the ball, his ability to hold himself under pressure and deliver results makes him a boon in the shortest format. Unfortunately, the 24 year old, who is playing his debut IPL season after being bought for his base price of 30 lakhs, seems to be finding it tough to break into the Pune team in the presense of in-form local leg spinner Murugan Ashwin. 2. Farhaan Behardien (KXIP): Farhaan Behardien. (Photo Source: Associated Press) Farhaan Behardien. the South African all-rounder, is a regular in the Proteas limited-overs outfit and recently played in the World T20. Behardien, after being bought in the auction for 30 Lakhs, is yet to get the first taste of the IPL. A useful lower-order batsman and a handy military medium bowler, Behardien is a seasoned T20 cricketer and can prove to be an asset for the Kings XI Punjab. Unfortunately, he hasn’t got any opportunity to make his IPL debut yet. 3. Corey Anderson (MI): Corey Anderson of Mumbai Indians. (Photo Source: BCCI) Corey Anderson is currently warming the bench. A fracture in the last season disallowed him from playing the full tournament and forced him to leave after jus four games. This season, he would certainly be itching to make an impact. But, his chances of making into the team seem to be great looking at the current form of his experienced teammate Kieron Pollard who is currently having a dry run with both bat and ball. 4. Eklavya Dwivedi (GL): (Photo Source: CricBuzz) Eklavya Dwivedi came into the IPL after creating a lot of buzz domestic circles last season. He had a wonderful run of form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2015/16, scoring 258 runs in 8 innings at an average o 51.60 while maintaining a superb strike rate of 135.78. Gujarat Lions have great batting line-up with the likes of McCulum and Suresh Raina. However, the hard-hitter can still make it to the side at the cost of the underperforming youngster Akshdeep Nath. 5. Nathu Singh (MI): (Photo Source: Twitter) Nathu Singh is a genuine fast bowler who has excited the imagination of cricketers and experts with his natural ability to clock 140+ speeds consistently. Nathu grabbed headlines after he was drafted to play for Board President XI last year. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for whopping 3.2 crores in the IPL auction. Mumbai Indian currently have a pretty settled line-up with Mitchell McClenaghan, Tim Southee, and Jasprit Bumrah leading the attack. However, with the league stages almost half-complete, Nathu surely needs to be tested and given an opportunity to showcase his talent which fans have mostly heard of till now.
