Coming into this game led by a new captain Punjab also made as many as four changes in the squad. Murali Vijay said: “Our equation is pretty simple. We have to make a play out of the situation. It’s been good, we have had a 5 day break. Four changes. Gurkeerat, Stoinis, Cariappa, and Saha are in.”

After winning the toss Gujarat skipper Suresh Raina said: “We’ll bowl first. We have been disciplined with our approach. When you have the likes of Bravo, Hodge, etc. your job becomes easier. I don’t know what to make of the pitch. Just need to bowl well. We are playing with the same team.”
