After 3 consecutive losses, Gujarat Lions are back on track after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata by 5 wickets. After being put into bat, KKR posted 158/4 thanks to a century stand between Yusuf Pathan and Shakib Al Hasan after losing early wickets. GL were hardly troubled by KKR’s bowlers. Dinesh Karthik with a fifty, helped GL chase down the target with 5 wickets in hand and 12 balls to spare. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.

1 – For the first time in IPL, century partnership has been recorded for the 5th wicket after the team lost its first 4 wickets within 25 runs. Previous highest Hodge-Jadeja’s 88 for KTK in 2011 vs PWI.

1 – For the first time in Twenty20 cricket, Yusuf Pathan’s fifty plus score while batting first went in losing cause.

2 – Number of matches KKR lost at home in this season so far. Last time they won more than 1 game at home was in 2013 season.

3 – Yusuf Pathan and Shakib Al Hasan scoring fifties is only the 3rd instance in IPL where 2 batsmen coming at or after No.5 scored fifties in an innings.

4 – Number of wickets KKR lost in powerplay overs. In the 9 games they played before this game in this season, they never lost more than 2 wickets in powerplay overs.

13 – Number of times Ravindra Jadeja has been unbeaten in successful run chases in IPL, joint 2nd most times by any player.

69 – Number of matches Robin Uthappa has been on the losing side in IPL, the most by any player.

134* – Yusuf Pathan and Shakib Al Hasan’s partnership stand is now the highest for the 5th wicket in IPL. This is also the 2nd highest for 5th wicket in Twenty20 cricket.

1388 – Partnership runs between Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa in IPL, the most for the opening wicket in IPL history.

2008 – Praveen Kumar now has 2 Man of the Match awards in Twenty20 cricket. Both have come in IPL. His previous match award was in 2008 for RCB vs DC at Bangalore.
