IPL 9 is now getting towards its business end when all teams are closing in to get to the playoffs stage. Apart from the Rising Pune Supergiants and Kings XI Punjab, all other teams have their chances to make it to the playoffs.

The Kolkata Knight Riders, after losing against the Gujarat Lions, have now found themselves in a must-win situation in their next game in a bid to qualify. The Gujarat Lions have jumped to the second spot after their win last night.

Delhi Daredevils, is they lose tonight against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, they might well be out of the race for the playoffs.

The RCB skipper continued his excellent run of form and hit the 4th century of the season during the match against the Kings XI Punjab. With 2 centuries in 3 matches, Kohli is looking in ominous touch. He is followed by his teammate AB de Villiers, who is at the second place with 597 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner is 30 runs behind de Villiers and will have his chance to overhaul the South African when Sunrisers Hyderabad clash with the Delhi Daredevils tonight.

Mitch McClenaghan continues to lead the Purple Cap list with 17 wickets despite failing to pick up a wicket against the Delhi Daredevils. Bhuvneshwar Kumar rose to the 2nd spot after his 2/32 against the Kings XI Punjab at Vizag. He has bagged 16 wickets so far. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s leggie Yuzvendra Chahal leapfrogged to the 3rd spot after bagging a 4-wicket haul against the Kings XI Punjab.

His teammate Shane Watson bagged a couple of wickets too, and is now placed on the 4th spot with 16 wickets to his name.
