IPL 9 has now reached its business end. The league stages has finally ended and the top four teams are now ready to lock horns in the playoffs. Gujarat Lions and Royal Challengers Bangalore are the top two teams who will get two attempts at the final berth. They will play the Qualifier 1 at Bengaluru tomorrow. Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad will face the heat of the Eliminator. The winner of Eliminator will compete with the loser of the Qualifier 1 in the Qualifier 2 at Delhi in a bid to play the finals against the winner of Qualifier 1.

Virat Kohli remained the undisputed holder of the Orange Cap after the league stages with an aggregate of 919 runs in 14 matches. He is way ahead of the second placed David Warner, who has 658 runs to his name. Kohli struck his 10th half century of the season in the last league game to ensure that his side finishes among the top two. His teammate AB de Villiers could add only 6 to his tally and is placed at the 3rd spot with 603 runs.

Mitch McClenaghan was finally displaced from the top stop of the Purple cap list. RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal bagged another 3-wicket haul to take the Purple Cap with 19 wickets to his name. Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar had earlier bagged 2 wickets against the Kolkata Knight Riders to claim the Purple Cap for a brief while before Chahal became the proud owner of it. Mitch McClenaghan has 17 wickets to his name and is placed at the 3rd spot. Chahal and Bhuvi will be in action during the playoffs that will kick start tomorrow.
