IPL 9: Points table, Purple Cap, Orange Cap and fixtures after the RPS v DD Match 33
IPL 9 is now getting towards its business end when all teams are closing in to get to the playoffs stage. The points table sees Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions take the top two positions with 12 points at the moment. A couple of more wins could almost guarantee them a place in the playoffs of the IPL 9. Delhi Daredevils lost their game against the Rising Pune Supergiants but still hold the 3rd position with 10 points and a better net run rate compared to the Mumbai Indians. Rising Pune Supergiants registered their 3rd win of the season and are placed at the 6th spot.
Tonight the Sunrisers Hyderabad will have an opportunity to swap places with Mumbai Indians in the points table if they beat the Gujarat Lions at Hyderabad.

Virat Kohli leads the race for the Orange Cap, being the only batsman to have scored in excess of 400 runs this season. He has 433 runs to his name in 7 matches. David Warner is at the 3rd spot with 386 runs in 7 matches. He will have his opportunity to cross the 400 mark and possibly claim the orange cap too, if he delivers against the Gujarat Lions. The 2nd position is held by the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir with 393 runs, although he has played 2 more matches compared to Kohli and Warner.
Rising Pune Supergiants batsman Ajinkya Rahane has moved to the 5th spot with 343 runs after his classy half century against the Delhi Daredevils.
