IPL Auction 2022: List of players sold and unsold in third round

Cricket fans worldwide are occupied with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction being underway. The two-day bidding even is taking place in Bengaluru and all 10 franchises are determined to form a formidable squad. Meanwhile, all-rounders and wicketkeepers were up for grabs in the third round. Ishan Kishan was the highlight of the session as Mumbai Indians signed him for a whooping INR 15.25 crore.
Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga proved to be a popular pick as the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore went after him. The Bangalore-based team eventually reacquired his services but not before spending a whooping INR 10.75 crore from their purse. On expected lines, the all-rounder ignited a bidding war and eventually went to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 8.75 crore. Another all-rounder who fetched a massive amount was Krunal Pandya. Having bought for INR 8.25 crore, the southpaw will now join KL Rahul at Lucknow Super Giants. Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who was in terrific form last year, was sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 6 crore.
Ishan Kishan becomes the fourth-most expensive player in IPL auction history
The last all-rounder in the capped category, Mohammad Nabi went unsold. The same was the case for Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade. Ambati Rayudu’s services were reacquired by Chennai Super Kings for INR 6.75 crore. As mentioned above, eyes of many team officials lit up when Ishan Kishan’s name popped up. Mumbai Indians did manage to reacquire his services but not before spending INR 15.25 crore from their pocket.
While Punjab Kings bought England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow for INR 6.75 crore, Dinesh Karthik was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 5.5 crore. Meanwhile, the likes of Wriddhiman Saha and Sam Billings went unsold. Nicholas Pooran was among the most expensive buys as Sunrisers Hyderabad grabbed him for INR 10.75 crore.
