Shane Warne was the captain and coach of RR when they won the inaugural IPL by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final. Rajasthan Royals won 11 of their 14 matches at league stage and finished at the top of the point table with 22 points. They defeated Delhi Daredevils in semi-finals before beating the Super Kings to lift the trophy. Shane Warne, in 2018 was added to the Fox Sports cricket commentary team for the next six years.

The leg-spinner was the mentor of the Royals in the first season. Since his retirement, Warne has been an active person on social media expressing his views about whatever happens around the game of cricket. Australia’s all-time leading wicket-taker, the 49-year-old, recently launched his autobiography ‘No Spin- My Autobiography’ covering all the events that happened during his glittering cricketing career.
