Kings XI Punjab, the franchise co-owned by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, had a phenomenal inaugural IPL under the captaincy of Yuvraj Singh. They reached the semi-finals by ending second in the points table with 10 wins out of 14 games. However, they lost to Chennai Super Kings in the semi-final. Yuvraj Singh, India’s hero in the World T20, recently got married to his girlfriend Hazel Keech. The left-handed batsman, who last played an international match in June 2017, is currently playing for Punjab Ranji team and is hoping to make a comeback to the international side for the next year’s World Cup.

Last year, he played for Punjab in the IPL and is one of the players released by the franchise. At the 2014 IPL auction RCB bought Yuvraj for an all-time high price of 14 crores and, in 2015, the Delhi Daredevils bought him for 16 crores making him the most expensive player to be sold in the IPL. The 36-year-old launched his autobiography The Test Of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back following his successful fightback from a cancerous tumour.
