It looked as if the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) openers came out hell-bent on destruction. In a mauling that will haunt the ‘Orange Army’ for a while, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) walloped the Sunrisers Hyderabad side with 7 wickets and 9 balls to spare.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis absolutely hammered the opposition bowling attack and put on a scintillating opening partnership of 129 runs in just 13 overs. While Gaikwad scored 75 off just 44 deliveries, Du Plessis scored a classy 56. Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja finished the job for the Chennai side and ensured that they did not face any hiccups.
For the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side, Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers. In the 4 overs that he bowled, the crafty spinner scalped three wickets and gave away 36 runs in the process.

Also, David Warner adopted a cautious approach at the top of the order and scored 57 at a strike rate of just over 100. And, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side finished their innings with a total of 171/3 in their allotted 20 overs.
For the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the pick of the bowlers was Lungi Ngidi. In the 4 overs that he bowled, the right arm pacer scalped two wickets and gave away 35 runs. And with this victory, the CSK side has moved to first place in the points table, while the SRH side occupies 8th place.
