IPL Points Table, Team Standings, Orange Cap And Purple Cap Updated List After RR vs DC Match

Chris Morris vindicated the Rajasthan Royals’ decision to shell out a whopping INR 16.25 Crores for him in the 2021 IPL auctions by slamming a match-winning 36* off just 18 deliveries, as the Rajasthan Royals posted their first win of IPL 2021. In a match where the heartbeats of the viewers would have been raised by several notches, the Rajasthan side beat the Delhi Capitals outfit with 3 wickets to spare.

At one stage, the Rajasthan side was in doldrums and it seemed as if they would go down meekly. The Royals lost half their side with just 42 runs on the board inside the first 10 overs. But then, David Miller dazzled and scored a flamboyant 62, to keep his side in the hunt. Chris Morris and Jaydev Unadkat then put on a game-changing stand of 46 runs as the ‘Men in Pink’ romped home in style.

Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers for the Delhi Capitals side. The right-arm pacer scalped three wickets in his quota of 4 overs and gave away 32 runs in the process.

Rishabh Pant’s fifty helps the Delhi Capitals post a total of 147/8

The Delhi Capitals side owes its decent score of 147/8 completely to the exploits of their skipper Rishabh Pant with the willow. The 23-year-old batting sensation plundered the Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) bowlers to all parts of the ground. In a 32-ball knock, the left-hander scored 51 runs. Pant’s innings was embellished with 9 glorious hits to the fence.

Apart from Pant, the other Delhi willow wielders cut a sorry figure. None of the other Delhi Capitals’ batsmen could go past the 25-run mark. In fact, at one stage, the Delhi Capitals were reeling at 37/4, with their top three batsmen back in the pavilion for single-digit scores.

Jaydev Unadkat was the star performer for the Rajasthan Royals with the ball in hand. Unadkat’s spell was an amalgamation of clever changes, both in pace as well as in length. And, he was rewarded for it with 3 wickets. With this victory, the Rajasthan side has moved to 5th place in the points table, while the Delhi Capitals occupy the 4th spot.
