IPL: Ranking top 10 jerseys of all-time
For any franchise or club, the designing of the 'jersey' remains a key activity outside the playing field.
8) Kolkata Knight Riders – 2014
The King of Bollywood, a.k.a. Shah Rukh Khan is a co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Hence, it comes as no surprise that the franchise is at the top of the pile when it comes to the fashion and glamour quotient. KKR remains the third-most successful side in IPL history, having won titles in 2012 and 2014.
KKR have always designed attractive kits, starting from their vintage black jerseys with golden stripes in the first few seasons of the IPL. In 2014, Gautam Gambhir’s men starred in a purple jersey that had a distinct yellow design around the neck. The sides of the jersey also had yellow patterns, which made it more appealing.
The USPA badge was engraved in white on the top-right side, and the KKR badge was on the left side of the jersey. The logo of the title sponsor, Nokia, was in white through the middle portion of the T-shirt. Kolkata managed to win their second title that season after they defeated Kings XI Punjab in a thrilling run-chase.
