The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to get underway on March 29. The opening match will be played between the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The schedule for the league stages has already been released after a lot of drama and anticipation.
The final will take place on May 24. A number of changes have been made for the tournament. This time around, there will be fewer doubleheaders. The auction took place on December 19 in Kolkata and now it’s time for action on the cricket field. In the final of last year, MI, led by Rohit Sharma, got past the Super Kings by a solitary run at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.

In the meantime, the IPL has released a promotional video for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich T20 league. The clip, doing the rounds on social media platforms, features MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, all of whom are popular names in the T20 championship.
The official IPL Twitter handle captioned the video and wrote, “The stage is set and the banter is On Ahead of the #VIVOIPL 2020, keep the banter coming and get set for March 29, jab #KhelBolega on @StarSportsIndia and Hotstar! The @Vivo_India IPL Carnival begins soon,”
Here is the video
Dhoni is likely to mark his return to cricket in the IPL after his sabbatical since the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup. He is the second most successful skipper in the IPL, having captained CSK to title glories on three instances. Virat, on the other hand, has been leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2013 after taking over from Daniel Vettori, but hasn’t tasted much success.
He will be looking for some change in fortunes for himself as well as for the RCB. As far as Pant is concerned, he is an integral member of the Delhi Capitals for the last few seasons. He bats in the middle-order and will be looking for another impressive season with the bat in hand.
