<p>Siddarth Kaul is not a new name in the Indian domestic circuit. He has been plying his trade for team Punjab in the domestic circuit for years now. He was <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/i-knew-that-good-performance-at-the-domestic-level-will-be-rewarded-siddharth-kaul/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>recently rewarded for his consistent domestic performances</strong> </a>with a national call up in the India’s ODI squad.</p>
<p>Kaul, who played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, bagged 16 wickets in the tournament in the 10 matches that he had played. He also had a four wicket haul to his name in the competition. Kaul would be hopeful of getting a T20I call up as well.</p>

<p>Kerala’s Basil Thampi is already being seen as one of the brightest upcoming fast bowling prospects in Indian cricket. Thampi earned his maiden IPL contract this year when he bagged a whopping deal with the Gujarat Lions. He had a decent time with the ball and had priced scalps like Chris Gayle to his name in the tournament.</p>
<p>However, the name seemed to dwindle ever since the tournament concluded. He has been plying his trade in the domestic circuit with satisfactory results. Thampi is in line to make his international debut sometime soon in the future.</p>

<p>The national selection committee is all set to announce the India squad for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. After the conclusion of the ongoing Test series, the men in blue will host the islanders for a 3-match ODI series, and this will be followed by a 3-match T20I series. The <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/indian-team-odi-series-sri-lanka-announced/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>squad for the ODIs was recently announced by the Indian board.</strong></a></p>
<p>Now, the selectors are going to put their heads together on December 4 afternoon to pick the T20I squad. The series commences on December 20. It is being speculated that the Indian side could see a lot new faces for this particular series. The domestic stars and the IPL performers are likely to get a look in. This is largely due to the fact that the selectors would want to rest the big names ahead of the upcoming South Africa tour.</p>
<p>Moreover, for the youngsters, this comes as a big opportunity to showcase their talents and prove their mettle at the highest level by donning the coveted Indian jersey. <p>Young Tamil Nadu all-rounder Washington Sundar has been a revelation in the domestic circuit. He played as a frontline spinner for the Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL this year. He was immaculately economical. Following a successful campaign in the big league, he came up with stellar show in Duleep Trophy.</p>
<p>His all-round heroics in the tournament saw his team win the title. Also, in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season, he has been consistently performing for Tamil Nadu. Moreover, he was in the fray for the Australia T20I series a month ago but had missed the bus after failing the yo-yo test. Now, he <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/washington-sundar-clears-yo-yo-test-line-get-india-t20-squad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>has cleared the test</strong></a> and is set for the big stage.</p>

<p>Hard-hitting left handed batsman Nitish Rana first came in to limelight after a whirlwind fifty in the 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League for the Mumbai Indians. In the 2017 edition, he was a regular face in the MI playing eleven. At one stage in the tournament, he proudly held the Orange Cap as well.</p>
<p>Now, Nitish Rana is plundering runs at will in the Ranji Trophy. Playing for the Delhi side, Rana has already scored two centuries and two fifties in the season thus far. He could <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/washington-sundar-clears-yo-yo-test-line-get-india-t20-squad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>potentially get a look in for the Sri Lanka series.</strong></a></p>

<p>Mumbai&#8217;s Shreyas Iyer, who played a couple of stellar knocks for Delhi Daredevils this season, has been knocking the doors of the international cricket for quite some time. He had recently bagged his India cap during the New Zealand tour of India. After not getting an opportunity to bat in his debut game, he showed some class in his first outing with the bat.</p>
<p>Iyer, however, failed to consolidate on his good start in the game and perished for 20 odd runs. He has been named as the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/indian-team-odi-series-sri-lanka-announced/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>replacement for Virat Kohli in the ODI squad</strong> </a>already. It will only be a surprise if he is not picked up in the T20I squad for the series against the islanders.</p>

<p>Maharashtra&#8217;s Rahul Tripathi bagged a contract with the Rising Pune Supergiant this year in the IPL. He took very little time to cement his position in the lineup for the RPS camp. During the tournament, he had 7 scores of 30-plus in 8 innings.</p>
<p>Also, he hammered a match winning 93 off 52 deliveries against the Kolkata Knight Riders to announce his arrival at the grand stage. In addition to that, Tripathi scored 2 centuries and a fifty for Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy this season. He can fit in the Indian side at the expense of Shikhar Dhawan, who could be rested for the series.</p>
<h4>5. Sanju Samson</h4>

<p>Not many might recall but Kerala&#8217;s leading wicketkeeper-batsman <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/the-current-indian-side-is-number-one-and-its-not-easy-to-break-in-sanju-samson/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Sanju Samson</strong></a> has already made his international debut for India. He had made his T20I debut for India in the 2015 tour of Zimbabwe. But a score of 15 did not help his cause to retain his place in the side. However, not that Samson has evolved as a player and the selectors pondering over resting MS Dhoni, Samson serves his case perfectly.</p>
<p>He hammered 175 in the Ranji fixture against Saurashtra. Prior to that, in the warm-up game against the Sri Lankans, he had scored 128. Add another Ranji century against Jammu and Kashmir to the list. Also, Samson had hammered a magnificent ton in IPL this year for the Delhi Daredevils against the Gujarat Lions.</p>

<p>One might wonder what is the name of Mayank Agarwal doing in this list. Many might claim that is not actually an &#8216;IPL Star&#8217;. But the fact that he burst into the limelight after his IPL stint makes him a contender in the list. Combine this with his <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/injustice-picked-mayank-agarwals-coach/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>recent form in the Ranji Trophy</strong></a>, and the critics would get a run for their money.</p>
<p>Mayank started off his Ranji Trophy season for Karnataka with a triple ton against Maharashtra at Pune. The score of 304 has been followed by 4 more centuries. He scored 176 against Delhi in the next game. In the match against Uttar Pradesh, he returned with scores of 90 and 133*. In the match against Railways, Mayank plundered twin tons &#8211; 173 and 134.</p>

<p>Young Rishabh Pant has already had a taste of international cricket. Pant was a part of the Indian squad that hosted England earlier this year. He even made his debut earlier this year in the same series. Pant&#8217;s prolific hard-hitting ability is already seeing him as a top candidate to fill the boots of MS Dhoni.</p>
<p>The selectors, too, seem to be quite fond of the newly appointed Delhi skipper. Albeit Pant has had a quiet time with the bat this domestic season, he could be making his comeback to the national side in the series against Sri Lanka.</p>

<p>Krunal Pandya rose to the occasion for the Mumbai Indians on the night of the big IPL finals. He was the top performer for the eventual champions in the tournament. Pandya has had a decent time in the domestic circuit since then.</p>
