IPL strikes big sponsorship deal with Automobile giant

They have their own engagement plan for the fans set up already.

Popular car manufacturing company, the Tata Motors, has recently bagged a mega deal with the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially confirmed the new sponsorship deal. The deal has been signed for a tenure of three years wherein the Tata Motors will be the official partner of the IPL. The car manufacturing company, as a part of their deal, will get to promote their new model Nexon in the stadiums across all the matches of the tournament.

The officials from the company expressed their happiness over the new deal. They remarked that the game of cricket is the most popular sport in the country. And the IPL is all about top notch performance, a motto that Tata Motors also holds very dearly.

“Cricket is the most celebrated sport in India and the IPL is all about superlative performance, which is also the mantra for the Tata Nexon,” said Mayank Pareek, president, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors.

“We are on an aggressive growth curve currently and would like to ride on the cricket wave to further strengthen our brand among the younger customer groups. We have big plans to capture the audience attention on-ground, on-air and across digital and we hope drive value from this association,” he added.

More awards, More fun

The Tata Motors will also be the sponsors of new awards in the tournament. They have their own engagement plan for the fans set up already. Along with the Nexon being displayed at the venues, there will be merchandise on offer as well. As per the reports in the Economic Times, the matches will have activities like the Tata Nexon Super Striker, wherein the best striker of the match/tournament will stand chance to win daily and season awards including a Tata Nexon for striker of the tournament.

Furthermore, there will also be a Tata Nexon Fan Catch for the players who manage to take a single-handed catch in a match. They will be awarded with INR 1 Lakh. And the season winner will be awarded a Tata Nexon. In addition to this, the Tata Nexon will also engage in 36 Fan Park Events in the tournament.

The IPL Chairman, Rajeev Shukla, expressed his delight over the new sponsorship signing. “We are delighted to have Tata Nexon as an Official Partner of the IPL. Having a leading Tata brand on board is a great testament to the IPL. We look forward to delivering great value to both the brand as well as the company,” he quoted.
