The current South African skipper has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ever since he made his debut. It was back in 2012 that Faf du Plessis first donned the CSK jersey and he’s never looked back since. Du Plessis was a very important part of the line-up as he batted largely at the top of the order, giving the team a solid start.

After CSK came back last year, he returned to the side and despite not featuring regularly in the tournament, he played a crucial knock in the qualifier which turned out to be match-winning in the end. Hence, it looks like he will be vital for the team in the next few years and could be an excellent captaincy option. He’s done really well for South Africa and seems to be an inspirational leader.
