The Indian T20 extravaganza is fast approaching with the mega auctions is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru later this month on 27 and 28. The franchises are scratching their heads over the past few weeks to list down the players they wish to buy during the event and build the team. The tournament has completed its 10 years and the eleventh edition will commence in the first week of April mostly. However, there are many batsmen in all these years who have enjoyed their supremacy over the bowlers whenever they’ve stepped onto the field with the willow in hand.
The shortest format of the game is all about the strike rates as the batsmen don’t have much time get their eyes in. There is no point if a batter scores a half-century off 45 odd balls if the team is chasing a huge total. A knock of 30 runs off just 15 deliveries plays a huge role in such cases. While the cash-rich league has seen it all in these 10 years, it has proved to be a blessing for the batsmen who only believe in whacking the ball out of the park.
Here we bring you the list of batsmen with highest strike rates in the history of IPL with a minimum of 2000 runs:
5. Yusuf Pathan
Yusuf Pathan has been one of the hardest hitters of the ball in his career so far. He has played fast-paced innings while playing for Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders thereby winning a lot of games for them. Moreover, he broke into the scene with this attitude itself when he used to only whack the ball during the inaugural edition of this cricketing festival. It would be interesting to see if he is picked by any of the two franchises he has played for due to his past heroics for them.
Yusuf has featured in a whopping 149 matches in IPL in which he has scored 2904 runs. His career strike rate of 145.49 is one of the best with him being fifth on the list. Very few have the ability to play consistently this way and Yusuf possesses the special talent to hit the ball cleanly. He had smashed a century way back in 2010 and has 13 more half-centuries to his name which is the testimony to the fact that he has been consistent enough to warrant a place in any side.
The Baroda lad has also hit 239 fours to go with 146 maximums which makes him one of the fiercest cricketers going around in the cricketing world.
