India ensured they began their long tour of Europe in a grand fashion as they crushed the Ireland side in first of the two T20I matches by a huge 76-run margin. Rohit Sharma’s 97 and Shikhar Dhawan’s 74 helped India post a huge total of 208/5 on the board as the opening pair shared a 160-run stand in 16 overs. The wrist spinners came to the party yet again sharing seven wickets between themselves. Yuzvendra Chahal conceded 38 runs for three wickets while Kuldeep Yadav registered figures of 4/21 in his four overs.

2 – The 160-run opening stand between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan is India’s 2nd biggest partnership for any wicket in T20I cricket. This is the 3rd 150+ T20I partnership for India and Rohit has been involved in all those three stands.

4/21 – Kuldeep Yadav’s 4/21 in this game is the best bowling figure for a chinaman spinner in T20I format. Lakshan Sandakan had figures of 4/23 against South Africa in the 2017 Johannesburg T20I.
His 16 wickets in the T20I format are also the most for a left-arm chinaman in this format surpassing 15 wickets by Michael Rippon for the Netherlands.
4 – Peter Chase took a 4-wicket haul in a space of seven balls dismissing Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Chase failed to take a wicket in the two T20Is he played before this game. His first wicket in this format came after he conceded 80 runs in the 52 balls he bowled in this format.
10 – India’s total of 208/5 in this game is their 10th 200+ total in the T20I format. South Africa (11) and Australia (10) are the other two teams with as many as 10 totals of 200+ in T20I cricket.
47 – Virat Kohli had no ducks in the first 47 T20I innings before bagging two in the next seven innings. Both his ducks in the T20I format are while leading India.
76 – India’s 76-run win in this game is their 4th biggest win in terms of runs in the T20I format. They defeated Sri Lanka by 93 and 88 runs respectively in the first two T20Is in the last year’s 3-match series and defeated England by 90 runs against England in the WT20 2012.
This is also the 2nd biggest defeat in this format for Ireland behind the 83-run loss against New Zealand in the 2009 WT20.
208/5 – Only the 2nd time Ireland have conceded a 200+ total in the T20I format. Afghanistan made 233/8 against the Irish side in the last year’s T20I played in Noida.
