Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has turned 46 today. ‘Dada’ was the one who brought an aggressive flavour into the Indian team back in the day. He is one of those captains who taught the Indian team to fight hard and defy all the odds. He is also one of the most successful Indian captains with quite some overseas success.

Many of the yesteryear cricketers and also some of them playing currently have debuted under Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly was a highly supportive captain and supported the youngsters through thick and thin. Hence, he is obviously one of the most famous cricketers in India and was flooded with wishes on his birthday. Irfan and Yusuf Pathan also wished the former skipper.

‘Continue the Dadagiri’

It was the elder brother Yusuf who wished Ganguly first. However, Yusuf didn’t have the chance to play much under the leadership of the Prince of Kolkata as he made his international debut only in 2007 which was towards the twilight of Dada’s career. He wished for ‘Dada’ to stay happy and stay blessed. ‘#HappyBirthday, Dada @SGanguly99 continue the Dadagiri. Stay happy, stay blessed. #IndianCricket,’ Yusuf tweeted. He also shared a picture with Sourav.

Irfan Pathan, on the other hand, had a sweet long message for his former captain. The all-rounder made his international debut under Dada all the way back in 2003. Irfan praised him for motivating the team to embrace the challenges and give a tough fight to even the best teams in the business. Furthermore, Irfan also shared two pictures of his with ‘Dada’ from one of the Test matches.

‘My first Captain and a leader who changed the mindset of Indian cricketers to go out there and challenged the big cats in the world cricket and the roar we hear now its cos of this man. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday dada #souravganguly @SGanguly99,’ Irfan wrote in his tweet.
