Ever since the Pulwama Attacks on February 14, India and Pakistan have been at the loggerheads with each other. Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack that led to the death of 40 CRPF jawans in the district of Jammu and Kashmir. The attack has also raised doubts on Imran Khan’s integrity as the Pakistan Prime Minister.
In another development, a MiG crashed in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir’s (POK) Bhimber district, the pilot of which was Abhinandan Varthaman. The Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot ejected unscathed from the MiG 21 Bison but ended up landing across the Line of Control (LoC). Subsequently, he was taken into custody by the Pakistan Army.
Ever since he has been gaining a lot of attention from the Indian public. With the hashtag #BringBackAbhinandan, people are praying for his well-being and hoping for his return to India at the earliest. In the meantime, Pakistan released a video where the Wing Commander didn’t lose his cool and remained calm while being probed by the Army.
Praises from Chopra and Pathan
A number of other videos are also doing the rounds. Meanwhile, the Indian fans are highly impressed by Abhinandan for his courage and bravery. The cricketing fraternity also heaped praises on the IAF pilot. The likes of Aakash Chopra and Irfan Pathan expressed their pride on social media.
Chopra took to Twitter and wrote, “Fearless in captivity. Head held high. Bravo. Thoughts with Abhinandan and his family. Can’t even imagine what they’re going through at the moment. Hoping for a quick and safe return. #BringBackAbhinandan,”
