Irfan Pathan comes up with a mouth-shutting reply to the people who bashed him for celebrating Rakhi

There is no doubt over the fact that cricketers have a staggering fan base. Having said that, it also does not take long for those fans to turn against the cricketers. While cricketers are showered with a lot of praise on social media platforms they are also subjected to immense criticism. Such an incident took place when Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan uploaded a picture of himself wearing a Rakhi on Instagram.

Though the cricketer wished his fans a happy Raksha Bandhan in good spirit, the Instagrammers lashed out on him holding him guilty of performing a ‘un-Islamic’ stunt. He was criticized for celebrating a Hindu festival being a Muslim by fellow Muslims. One of the fans went on to state that Irfan is things which are against Islam despite his father being a Moulvi, which means a Muslim priest.

However, Irfan Pathan has finally responded to all the criticism and hatred in an appropriate manner. He posted a mouth shutting reply for the self-turned critics who slammed him on the popular social media platform. Pathan in his reply, mentioned that using abusive language and disrespecting other religions is of no use but it highlights the wrong upbringing and mentality of the people in this country. He also advised his fans to stop pulling each other down in the name of religion.

“Using foul language, talking to each others rudely on the basis of religion. It shows nothing but your own learning which some people have gathered in their mind over the years. Stop this nonsense of putting each other down,” Pathan added in a reply to the trolls on Instagram. This is not the first time Irfan Pathan is facing such criticism but a similar incident took place when he shared a picture of his wife who was not wearing a proper attire according to the fans.

Cricketer Mohammad Kaif was brutally criticized for posting a picture of himself playing chess with his son Kabir which was also considered to be ‘un-Islamic’. Mohammed Shami has been facing abuse for a long time now. He was also subjected to a firing when he allowed his wife to click a picture in western attire.
