Irfan Pathan shared a heartfelt post on Instagram.
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan might have bid adieu to all forms of cricket. However, he continues to learn more about other aspects of the gentleman’s game. On Friday (August 13), the southpaw took to Instagram and shared the news of finishing a Level-2 hybrid coaches course by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It was an eight-day event where many prominent cricket stars participated.
In the picture shared by Irfan Pathan, several former Indian cricketers including Yusuf Pathan, Naman Ojha, Abhishek Nayar, Ashoke Dinda, VRV Singh, and Parvez Rasool were spotted. Irfan also thanked NCA head Rahul Dravid and other faculty members for giving him the right guidance during the course of the program. He also lauded NCA for its contribution to Indian Cricket.
I’d like to thank Rahul Dravid & faculty for having me: Irfan Pathan
“Elated to share with my fans that I just finished level 2 hybrid course by NCA BCCI . The comment section got flooded in no time with fans being elated seeing so many former cricketers in one frame. With this program being a coaching course, one can expect Irfan to become more active in the field of mentorship. It’s indeed a great piece of news for young Indian cricketers with the junior Pathan being one of the finest all-rounders to have played for India.
Making his international debut in December 2003, Irfan didn’t take long in cementing his place in the national team. He burst onto the scenes with his ability to swing the ball both ways. The southpaw was also a handy batter lower down the order who played many sensational knocks in national colours. Riding on his prowess, Team India won several games across the three formats. In total, Pathan picked 301 international wickets alongside scoring over 2,500 runs.
