Irfan Pathan congratulates Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik on becoming parents
The couple also named the baby boy Izhaan.
Tennis titan Sania Mirza and veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik welcomed a baby boy to their life on Tuesday. Former sportspersons, celebrities from both the nations showered their blessings and heartiest wishes to them for becoming parents.
The transnational couple who tied the knot in the year 2010, disseminated the news of Sania’s pregnancy in April this year. Among the Pakistani cricketers, it was Junaid Khan, Mohammad Amir, and Sohail Tanveer who pitched in with their congratulatory messages for the baby boy.
Among the Indian cricketers, Suresh Raina chipped in with a beautiful message from his side. Irfan Pathan didn’t hold back either from wishing the couple in in the social media through Twitter. “Big congratulations to @MirzaSania and @realShoaibmalik for the arrival of their baby boy,” the tweet read.
Sania Mirza, a professional Tennis player has been one of the most successful Indian athletes. She has also been one of the highest paid along with being one of the high-profile athletes in the country. Having won six grand slam titles, she was a former No. 1 in doubles discipline.
From 2003, until her retirement in 2013 in the singles category, Sania was ranked as India’s No. 1 by the WTA in both the categories. Mirza has also been honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and 2016, Arjuna Award in 2004, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in the year 2015, WTA Newcomer Award in the year 2005, Padma Shri Award in 2006.
Mirza stresses on going after what you want
The Tennis star had also stressed on the fact that she wants to set an example that family, pregnancy and motherhood is not something that must hold back someone to not complete their wish of achieving their dream. She followed Serena Williams’ footsteps who did the act of bringing her little girl to the tennis court in order to watch.
Shoaib Malik, on the other hand has always been Pakistan’s go to man in their crisis situations. The 36 year old has played over 400 international games for Pakistan, having made his debut way back in 1999.
