Irfan Pathan is delighted with the way things have been shaping for J&K cricketers
Irfan Pathan shifted his base from Baroda to Jammu and Kashmir this season and has been mentoring the team while also featuring as a player.
Veteran Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan is currently plying his trade for Jammu and Kashmir in the domestic circuit. Irfan, who is renowned for his exceptional swing bowling skills, is a household name in Indian cricket. He shifted his base from Baroda to J&K this season and the mentor of the side is truly ecstatic to be a part of this exciting bunch of cricketers who have a lot to look forward to.
Irfan was recently seen representing the team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His most recent outing in the new outfit saw him fetch a three-for against Assam. In various interviews, Irfan has suggested that he wishes to pass on his experience and knowledge to the youngsters in the northern state of India and hopes to see cricket flourish in the region.
Recently, after the squads for the Deodhar Trophy were announced, Irfan could not stop proudly brimming with joy. The reason behind this happiness was the selection of J&K player Umar Nazir. Umar was named in the Deodhar Trophy squads and will be playing for India C in the tournament. He will play under the watchful leadership of Indian Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.
Well, this is not the only good news that J&K has received recently. Another cricketer from the state, Rasikh Salam also got a big opportunity. The Kashmir lad has managed to impress the think tank of the IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians. The three time champions recently conducted their selection trials and the Rasikh proved to be one of the highlights of the trials.
Reportedly, he managed to catch the eye of the management with his impressive bowling skills. Watching two names flourish from the state of J&K, Irfan could not keep calm and took to Twitter to express his happiness. He exclaimed that this is a very promising time for cricket in the state.
