Former Australian legend Rod Marsh has been taken to the Queensland hospitals after facing a serious heart attack on the way to a charity event. Marsh was reportedly rushed to hospital by Bulls Masters organisers John Glanville and David Hillier and they had immensely helped through the event in Bundaberg.
Marsh, 74, is hailed as one of the best wicketkeepers ever and he had a career span of nearly 14 years after making his debut in 1970. Having reprsented Australia in 96 Tests and 92 ODIs, the left-handed batter had played an important part in the Australian rise in the cricket world. Marsh scored more than 4800 international runs with three centuries and 20 half-centuries.
Apart from his batting potential, Marsh had effected 479 dismissals behind the stumps in the international arena and post his retirement, he went on to serve the game as the national selector as well until 2016. He has had a big part in Cricket Australia and a lot of former cricketers have poured in their wishes for the veteran to recover soon.
