Is this Team India’s away jersey for the ongoing World Cup 2019?
India is likely to wear an away jersey for England clash on June 30.
Team India look set to unveil their away jersey in the ongoing World Cup. India, who have been seen sporting different hues of blue over the years, will be donning an orange uniform for the clash against the hosts who are wearing the blue jersey. According to reports, the away jersey will be orange in colour with the collar having a blue strip, a reverse of the current colour combination. Then reports suggested that the primary colour of the jersey will be blue while the sleeves and sides will be of orange colour.
Taking a cue from football, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has adapted the home and away jersey concept. The governing body has given a go-ahead to the teams to wear two jerseys in the ongoing World Cup. South Africa have already used their two jerseys while Bangladesh have also unveiled their red jersey. With England being the host nation, they are allowed to play the entire competition in the same kit.
“For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match,” the ICC had said in a release.
Team India’s new jersey
India are more than likely to wear their new jersey against England. Both the teams will lock horns in a mouth-watering clash on June 30. And ahead of the game, a new jersey is doing the rounds on the social media which many claim that the Men in Blue will wear it for the encounter. The away jersey has a much darker shade of blue with plenty of orange on the sleeves. India last wore dark blue in the World Cup in 1992 and since then have opted to go with much lighter shades.
Having said that, it is not yet confirmed officially if the picture doing the rounds on social media is the same jersey which India will wear.
