Ishant Sharma congratulates Virat Kohli for his 50 centuries, Kohli gives cheeky response
The Indian captain was quick to acknowledge the good wishes that came his way from Ishant Sharma.
Veteran Indian speedster Ishant Sharma joined the long list of cricketers who recently wished Virat Kohli for his stupendous achievement in the Kolkata Test. In the second innings of the match, Kohli hit his 18th Test ton, which was also his 50th international century. He became the 8th player to achieve the distinction and is the joint fastest to the landmark of 50 tons along with Hashim Amla.
Ishant Sharma took to micro-blogging site Twitter to congratulate the captain of the Indian cricket team. He had his words of admiration for Kohli and perhaps, had done a great deal of research work too before writing the tweet. He had a couple of stats included in his tweet which were spot on.
Ishant and Kohli have been playing cricket for a long time. They have been sharing the dressing room for the Indian team and also, for their domestic team, Delhi. While Kohli is leading the team in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, Ishant was released from the squad ahead of the first Test. Well, for now, the two seem to be sharing pleasantries on the social media.
@imVkohli Congrats Cheeku for ur incredible achievement of becoming the 8th Batsman EVER to score 50 or more int’l Centuries & being fastest to score it (348 innings). Great Going, Chakde Phatte,” tweeted Ishant Sharma.
Here is Kohli’s response
The Indian captain was quick to acknowledge the good wishes that came his way from Ishant Sharma. He gave a cheeky thank you reply and called Ishant as ‘lambe’, which translates to being tall. It seems that this is the name that Kohli often uses to address Ishant in the dressing rooms. Kohli, in his response, wrote, “Thanks lambe.”
