Team India fast-bowler Ishant Sharma who bowled an inspired spell during the final day of the only Test against Bangladesh was involved in an onfield spat with Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman. It was during the 69th over of the match when the conversation between the two started. After delivering the 4th delivery of the 69th over, Ishant on his follow through gave a stare to Sabbir Rahman.
Rahman wasn’t far away and asked Ishant to go back to his bowling mark. Ishant replied by signalling him to keep quite. The bowler came back very strongly in his very next over and removed the dangerous battle with a full-length delivery. It pitched around off and the middle stump and held its line after pitching. It struck Sabbir plumb in front and the umpire too adjudged the decision in favour of the bowler. He gave a mouthful to Rahman following his dismissal as Sabbir made a long way back to the pavilion.
Courtesy a brilliant display of bowling by Ishant, Team India registered an emphatic victory against Bangladesh by 208 runs to continue their dream run in the longest format of the game. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin both toiled hard and eventually finished with four wickets each. Ishant should have got at least two more wickets but missed out on both occasions, While Kamrul Islam Rabbi was wrongly adjudged not out by Marais Erasmus, Murali Vijay missed a sitter of a catch of Mehdi Hasan at 1st slip
Captain Virat Kohli continued his purple patch and became the first player in Test cricket history to smash four double centuries in 4 consecutive Test series. He also broke MS Dhoni’s record for most consecutive series wins as a captain across all formats. He has had an exceptional last few months across all formats and would carry on the good work in the upcoming 4 match series against Australia.
