Ishant Sharma has carved himself a reputation as one of India’s most reliable bowlers, especially in Test cricket, though fortunes haven’t favoured him in the limited-overs formats. The speedster is currently in the West Indies, playing the two-match Test series and hasn’t disappointed by any stretch of the imagination. In the first Test, he finished with eight wickets.
At the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, the Delhi bowler churned out a five-wicket haul in the first innings followed by a three-wicket haul in the second. In the second Test at the Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica, he hasn’t flattered to deceive either. Albeit Jasprit Bumrah notched a six-wicket haul in the first innings, Ishant silently kept enacting his role.

He gave away only 24 runs in 10.3 overs, getting the wicket of Jahmar Hamilton. In India’s first innings, Ishant also churned out a gutsy half-century, his second in first-class cricket. Moreover, he shared a 112-run stand with Hanuma Vihari that helped the visitors post a mammoth 416. His knock was laced with seven boundaries and even Virat Kohli enjoyed it from the dressing room.
Recently, Ishant overtook the great Kapil Dev on the list of Indian bowlers with most wickets outside Asia. The tall and lanky seamer has now turned 31 and wishes have poured in for him. Pratima Singh, his wife and also a basketball player, dropped a message for him, saying that she wants a century from her husband. She uploaded a photo of theirs in order to wish her loved one.
Pratima captioned the adorable picture and wrote, “A very very Happy Birthday to an amazing human being !! May you get all the happiness in life !! Happiest Birthday Love may you live long and be happy always @ishant.sharma29 all the luck and love to you !! May you break all the records take lots of wickets and make centuries I Love You,”
