The speculations about the rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been going on endlessly. Every day, there are several rumours that are surfacing about the matter. While the officials have tried to deny all such reports, some of the developments have suggested otherwise. It got quite controversial when Rohit Sharma unfollowed Virat Kohli on Instagram some time ago.
Now, very recently, the Indian limited-overs opener has also unfollowed the skipper’s wife Anushka Sharma on the social media platforms. Thus, this has added fire to the fuel and some of the reports suggested that the rift was about the captaincy. There were also a few stories that hinted that many members of the Indian team weren’t happy with the work of Ravi Shastri and Kohli. Furthermore, a cryptic message from Anushka in her Instagram story didn’t help the cause either.
“A wise man once said nothing. Only truth can shake hands with silence in a mess of false appearances,” she wrote right after Rohit unfollowed her. When he came to attend the pre-departure press conference in Mumbai, the journalists fired this question as well at him. However, just like he denied any rift between him and Rohit, Virat expressed his disappointment at this news as well. He came out with a strong response to all such rumours and that might settle things down at least for now.
It’s ridiculous to read reports of the rift
Virat Kohli, quite obviously, expressed his disappointment about all the reports that are doing circles on social media. He said that it was baffling and ridiculous to read the reports of this rift. Moreover, he said that it is disrespectful to bring in personal lives into the picture.
“It’s baffling, ridiculous to read reports of the rift. It’s disrespectful to bring in personal lives into the picture,” Kohli said when asked about Rohit unfollowing Anushka. Kohli also denied all the reports and said that he praised Rohit whenever he batted well. Furthermore, the 30-year-old informed that the team wouldn’t be able to bring out consistent performances if the dressing room atmosphere was bad. Earlier, it was also reported that the Bollywood actor and Rikita Sajdeh kept a distance from each other during the World Cup 2019.
