Social media went into a frenzy after Indian businessman and one of IPL’s founders Lalit Modi posted a picture with former Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen, disclosing that they are in a relationship. Modi’s son Ruchir, when asked about the news, said that it is about his father’s life and his decision, and refused to comment further.

Ruchir said that he refrains from commenting on personal family matters, adding that he would be happy to comment on business matters instead. Modi also founded the T20 league – Champions League Twenty20 in 2008, where top T20 teams from various leagues took part

“It is his life and his decision,” Ruchir was quoted as saying by the Times of India. “I prefer to refrain from commenting on personal family affairs but would always be happy to comment in relation to business or other matters.”

We don’t comment on personal matters as a family policy: Ruchir

It was on July 14, Thursday, when Modi posted pictures of him with Sen on Twitter, as he wrote, “Just back in london after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families — not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 — a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon.” Modi sent another post shortly after, saying, “Just for clarity. Not married — just dating each other. That too will happen one day.”

Ruchir, 28, however, stressed that he did not want to comment on these family affairs as it was their family policy. “I prefer not to comment at all, to be very honest, as we don’t comment on personal matters as a family policy,” said Ruchir.

Modi also has a daughter named Aliya, who is 29, and lost his ex-wife Minal due to cancer in December 2018. Post these developments, one of Modi’s tweets related to Sen from 2013 has resurfaced on the social media platform, where he writes, “Okay I commit @thesushmitasen: @LalitKModi u r too kind:)) however, promises are meant to be broken.. commitments are meant hooured!! Cheers love!! Here’s to 47!!! :)”.
