'It teaches you can’t always win' - David Warner reacts after daughters cry on his dismissal against RCB
Warner's daughters were seen dejected after his dismissal against RCB.
During the game between the Delhi Capitals and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, David Warner played a swashbuckling innings of 66 off just 38 deliveries. However, once he was dismissed, his daughters were captured on camera looking dejected. In fact, Warner’s daughters Ivy Mae and Indi Rae earlier were seen enjoying the innings from the stands when the left-hander was hitting the ball to all parts of the ground during the chase for the Delhi Capitals. But they could not stop their emotions from flowing once he was gone.
Warner has shown good form in the last two games for the Delhi Capitals and he started off well with a 50 run partnership for the first wicket alongside Prithvi Shaw. Once Shaw was dismissed, Warner took the onus on himself and hit five sixes and four fours in his superlative knock. It was also his second consecutive half-century but he could not take his side to victory as they fell short by 16 runs in the end.
Warner felt delighted about his kids understanding the game of cricket and noted the importance of understanding that a team cannot win always. He added that there hasn’t been a shortage of any commitment every time he has stepped onto the ground. The 35-year-old had been picked up in the mega auction for INR 6.25 crore by the Delhi Capitals. So far, he has scored 131 runs in three games.
“God bless, they now understand the game very much and feel it. So lucky to have my kids know what we do, but more importantly, it teaches them that you can’t always win. We all give 100% every time we walk onto that field, no matter what. #cricket #passion #ipl,” Warner wrote in his Instagram post.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals player Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for Covid-19 and their next encounter against Punjab Kings remains doubtful at the moment.
