'It was for my father' - Chetan Sakariya on pulling off Dragon Ball Z celebration after trapping Aaron Finch
Sakariya dismissed Finch in DC's last IPL game against KKR.
Young pacer Chetan Sakariya stepped up for his first match of IPL 2022 on April 28th in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders and picked a wicket while conceding 17 runs in three overs. However, there was a special celebration brought on the field by Sakariya that stole the limelight. After dismissing Aaron Finch in just the second over of the game, the DC pacer did a Dragon Ball Z celebration, crossing his arms in front and putting two fingers on his forehead.
Later, after the game, Sakariya was involved in a chat with Kuldeep Yadav and revealed the reason for the same. The young pacer added that he did this celebration for his late father as he always wished him to clean bowled the international batters.

“It was an emotional celebration and it was for my father. He always wished for me to dismiss an international batter bowled,” said Sakariya while speaking to Kuldeep Yadav after DC vs KKR game.
The video of the chat between the two bowlers was shared by IPL’s official IG handle It is to be noted that Sakariya’s father Mr. Kanjibhai Sakariya breathed his last in May 2021 after turning COVID-19 positive while the pacer was up in his debut IPL season. He was brought by RR for INR 1.20 cr during his debut in IPL and was released by them after the first season.
During IPL 2022 mega auction, DC grabbed the services of the pacer at INR 4.20 Cr after having an intense bidding war with the Royals, involving RCB. It remains to be seen how Sakariya will contribute to DC’s success in the future if he gets to be part of XI continuously.
Talking of DC vs KKR game, Kuldeep Yadav continued his golden run and bagged four wickets while giving just 14 runs to collect his fourth player of the match award of the season.
